Business Intelligence Analyst
Portsmouth, UK - this role requires 3 days a week in office.
Our team is over 400 people strong, across our UK and US offices and we’re still growing. Lead Forensics supplies B2B SaaS software solutions to companies, providing them with the power to identify who is viewing their websites and generate quality sales leads. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, your insights will provide our Senior Leadership Team with important data to drive long term business decisions.
Role summary:
You are responsible for completing data analysis on a broad range of business activities in order to provide high quality insights to the company’s Senior Leadership Team. Your insights will be used by the business to make major long-term decisions of the up most importance.
Largely working in an independent capacity, you are comfortable working on a variety of different projects at any one time. Having been provided with a brief, you enjoy organising your own work from day to day; collaborating with different people both inside and outside of the business; gathering the raw information you need; undertaking complex data analysis; preparing reports with conclusive insights; and when required presenting this insight to members of the company’s management team.

Required skills:
- High level of competence with MS SQLand PowerBI
- Data preparation; gathering, cleaning, organising
- Confidence working with complex data and systems
- Competence with Python would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience supporting SaaS sales activities by calculating metrics such as CAC and customer Churn
- Presenting (within internal company meetings)

- A general degree of commercial acumen
Areas of responsibility:
Project management
- Taking briefs from senior people within the company for new analysis projects to be undertaken.
- Being sure to clarify the brief up front and agree a solid scope from the outset with a clear understanding of what they hope to achieve
- Providing a reliable forecast of likely time/effort to complete projects, and reporting this back regularly to stakeholders
- Identifying project dependencies and managing these to ensure deadlines are hit
- Managing an ever-changing portfolio of projects; Some projects will be one off; some ongoing
Business analysis
- An entrepreneurial spirit, able to independently go off and source information needed to complete analysis. Much of this will sit in our internal CRM/ERP systems. Other information may exist but in standalone departmental systems. Other information may not exist, and you will need to start data capturing initiatives with our customer facing teams. Other information may need to be procured from third party suppliers and appended to the project data.
- Using your business acumen you will explore different solutions, their risks, benefits, and impacts
- Creating documents to outlines the outcome of analysis and proposed changes
- Example projects include;
- Using our product user data to identify how our most successful customers use our products compared to others
- Using our sales data to analyse the impact of price changes on customer retention
- Using third party firmographic data to spot which industries should be our primary targets
Cross functional collaboration
- Good interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with all departments in the business to gather the data and know how you need to complete projects.
Self-management
- Much of the role will require the ability to work individually for much of the week
- The job will not be possible though without also being able to work as part of a team.
